Harvest Dinner From Provence
We are excited to kick-off à la carte Chicago with a hands-on cooking class with Madelaine Bullwinkel, featuring a dinner harvest from Provence. The flavors of olives, basil, walnuts and Rhone wine infuse this casual menu with the allure of Provence. Class members will experience the pleasures of the harvest as they prepare Grilled Goat Cheese in Grape Leaves, Spiced Olivevs, Fall Vegetable Soup with Pistou, Daube à l'Ancienne (Beef Shalots, Olives) and Walnut Cake with Chocolate Sauce. It's a hearty fall meal that will taste wonderful throughout the cold weather months.
Chef Madelaine Bullwinkel, has been teaching French cooking skills in hands-on classes for almost 40 years and is the resident chef at Alliance Francaise de Chicago. She brings a wealth of experience to the classroom and has guided culinary tours for 20 years in Paris, the Limousin and Provence. In 2001, the Chicago Tribune honored her with the Good Eating Award.
